Source: Post-Bulletin, Rochester, Minn.迷你倉Sept. 25--Mayo Clinic has announced an expansion of its biobank to focus on obesity, metabolism and diabetes among Latinos in Arizona.The effort there by Mayo and collaborators, called Sangre por Salud Biobank, extends Mayo's initial biobank efforts in Rochester, which started in 2009.Mayo researchers want to enroll 50,000 people nationwide, including 5,000 from Mayo Clinic Health System, 5,000 from Mayo Clinic Florida and 2,000 from Arizona.More than 31,000 had joined as of this spring."Mayo's Biobank differs from most in that it not only collects biological samples for genomic studies, but it links that information to data 儲存倉rom the participant's medical record," says a Mayo announcement.Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse patients there can join beginning this month."In Rochester, patients enthusiastically have participated in the Biobank and appreciated having the opportunity to possibly help improve the health of future generations," the health system reported.
